Welcome!
The Wilmington Symphony Orchestra remains a cultural jewel for
southeastern North Carolina, performing a series of subscription
concerts for thousands of adults and school children throughout
the year.
Music for Your Special Occasion
In addition to playing orchestra concerts, many of the WSO musicians
also provide music for special occasions such as weddings and receptions.
Typical groupings of instruments include string trios and quartets
(violin, viola, cello), brass groups (trumpet, French horn, trombone, tuba),
and woodwind ensembles (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon). Musicians also
serve as soloists at special occasions. See the Music for Special Occasions
page for more details.

2008-2009 Season

We invite you to join us for Ovation! — an exciting and engaging season of symphonic
masterworks from three centuries. Whether you are a renewing subscriber or a first-time
subscriber, season tickets guarantee you the best seats in the house.
Musical sparks begin to fly immediately with the opening concert’s performance of two
of the most popular symphonies of all time as we reach the midpoint in our five-year
Beethoven symphony cycle. The next concert backs up a century or so to a feast of
Baroque masterpieces, followed by a performance of selections from Handel’s Messiah
in time for the holidays.
